Over 100 Offenders Warned or Arrested
In the past 20 days, more than 100 individuals involved in antisocial activities have been either warned or arrested. Police have identified 60 to 70 hotspots in the city where these raids are being conducted. Efforts are underway to increase the frequency and reach of these operations. Known repeat offenders are being called in for verification, and their fingerprints and photographs are being recorded for future reference. This ensures quick arrests if they commit other crimes.
Focus on Night Crime Prevention
Sambalpur police have intensified their night patrolling, especially targeting crimes like theft and robbery. Police outposts have been strategically set up in key locations across the city, helping to ensure safety at night. These outposts have become a source of reassurance for residents, allowing them to move around without fear.
Public Reaction and Concerns
Residents of Sambalpur, like Govind Sagar, have praised the increased police activity, particularly the night patrols and outposts. However, concerns remain about certain dark and deserted areas, such as the road from GM College to Khetrajpur, which often sees incidents of crime. Local residents and travelers have requested additional police attention in these areas to ensure their safety.
With these intensified efforts, Sambalpur police are determined to reduce crime and ensure public safety. While residents feel more secure in many parts of the city, continued focus on problem areas will help create a safer environment for all.
