President Kovind Transfers two judges to the Orissa High Court
The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, transferred 15 judges from various high courts across the country today.
In exercise of the power conferred by Clause (1) of Article 222 of the Indian Constitution, the President transferred the Judges of the High Courts after consulting with the Chief Justice of India.
Justice Jaswant Singh was transferred from the Punjab and Haryana High Court to the Orissa High Court. Justice Arindam Sinha was also transferred from the Calcutta High Court to the Orissa High Court.
The President directed the Judges to take up their positions in the Orissa High Court.
Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, who currently sits on the Orissa High Court, has been transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court.
