Prominence of women in productive and self-help groups, One and a half lakh national flags were made in 10 days
Sambalpur: The whole country is getting excited for the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. As both the central and state governments are struggling to make the “Har Ghar Triranga” campaign a success, women are clamoring for it. The program is jointly organized by Mission Shakti and Ormas, and women from both producers and self-help groups are involved. The women of Sambalpur have set a new record by making one and a half lakh triranga in just 10 days. Between 250 and 300 women have made trirangas in Sambalpur, Kuchinda and Rengali.
According to Ormas official Srimanta Hota, between August 1st and 10th, women made one and a half lakh trirangas. While these flags were made by various producers and self-help groups in Sambalpur, which were handed over to the district administration on Friday, the Matri Shakti producer group and various women’s self-help groups have made a total of 70 thousand flags.
Similarly, in Rengali Maa Jagatjanani producer group and various self-help groups together made 40 thousand triangles and in Kuchinda Ujjwala and Srushtimayi producer group and various women self-help groups together made 40 thousand triangles. 25 rupees will be paid to women by the government for one national flag. Mr. Hota said that it will be very helpful in making them financially independent.
