Pulwama Attack: A Tragic Day in Indian History, Nation Remembers the Sacrifice of Brave Hearts
On February 14, 2019, India faced a devastating terrorist attack when a CRPF convoy was targeted by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists used an explosives-laden car to attack a bus carrying CRPF jawans near Goripora in Awantipora on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting in the tragic loss of 40 CRPF personnel.
This day, known as Black Day in India, is a solemn occasion to honor the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. As the country remembers the Pulwama incident, tributes stream in from all over, recognizing the heroism and sacrifice of those who lost their lives.
The attack was internationally denounced, and India replied with a surgical strike on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan, known as the Balakot Airstrike, within 12 days of the incident.
The Balakot airstrike on February 26, 2019, targeted terrorist camps and caused major damage to Jaish-e-Mohammed. The Indian Air Force’s Mirage-2000 planes carried out the strike, destroying terrorist infrastructure and eliminating around 300 terrorists.
The memory of our brave souls in Pulwama continues to inspire us, acting as a reminder of their selfless commitment to the safety and security of the nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their bravery serves as a source of inspiration as we strive to build a strong and developed India.
