Pulwama Attack: A Tragic Day That Shaped India’s Fight Against Terrorism, Nation Salutes Pulwama’s Martyred Warriors

On February 14, 2019, India witnessed one of its darkest days when a suicide bomber attacked a convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack claimed the lives of 40 brave CRPF personnel, making it one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on Indian security forces.

A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying CRPF personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. The Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack. This tragic incident led to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, eventually resulting in the Balakot airstrikes by the Indian Air Force on terrorist camps in Pakistan.

The Pulwama attack became a watershed moment in India’s fight against terrorism and led to major diplomatic and strategic shifts in the region. Since then, February 14 is observed as a Black Day to remember and pay homage to the martyrs who lost their lives in service of the nation.

On this solemn day, we remember the supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers and stand in solidarity with their families. Let us pay our respects to these martyrs and renew our commitment to peace and security. May their souls rest in peace, and may their sacrifice never be forgotten.
