Sambalpur: Travel Made Easier; QR Code Payment System Now at Sambalpur Railway Stations
Sambalpur: Most places are seeing an increase in the number of cashless transactions conducted through UPI. Passengers were still required to pay in cash at railway ticket counters, which caused some inconvenience. Sambalpur Railway Division has now joined the Central Government’s Digital India initiative, implementing a QR code payment system at several stations.

Implementation of QR Code System
Passengers can now use QR codes to pay for their tickets at various stations throughout the Sambalpur Division. QR codes will be displayed at all division ticket booking counters to aid in this process. The implementation is already underway.
Timeline for Availability
By August 15th, all unreserved ticketing system (UTS) counters will accept QR code payments. Similarly, the system will be available at all reserved ticketing system (PRS) counters by the end of August.
Transition to Cashless Refunds
Furthermore, the Sambalpur Railway Division has announced that the refund process will be cashless, contributing to the transition to a digital economy.
