Sambalpur: 24,000 liters of petrol-diesel stolen from the pipeline, 7 accused including the owner of petrol pump were arrested
Jujumura/Sambalpur: Sambalpur police have arrested 7 accused for stealing 24 thousand liters of petrol and diesel from the pipeline. A petrol pump owner is said to be among the arrested accused. Sambalpur Police has informed through a press release. Police seized empty tanks, cars, knives and other items from the accused.
According to the police, Narendra Behera, the assistant manager of the pipeline division of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, filed a complaint about the theft of petrol and diesel from the pipeline that passed through the Hatibari forest under Jujumura police station of Sambalpur district. Mr. Behera stated in the complaint on the 10th feb that diesel was stolen from the Jatni-Sambalpur pipeline section. Based on this complaint, the police registered a case and was investigating the incident.
After investigating the incident, the police found that the accused had stolen 12,000 liters of petrol and the same amount of diesel (12,000). Mohammad Sultan (23), Abdul Amin (33), SK Azmad (32), Kishore Singh (35), Chandrashekhar Chand (33), Sunil Kumar Panda (26), Atal Bihari Sahu have been arrested by the police. The first 5 accused lived in Sambalpur district while the other 2 lived in Bargarh and Kalahandi. Police said that a tank (OD 05U-0553) and a Honda i20 car (OD 08Q-9041) were seized from the accused.
