Sambalpur: 27 new irrigation projects will be constructed in Sambalpur district, 2699 hectares of land have been estimated to be flooded
Sambalpur: A comprehensive plan has been prepared to ensure at least 35 percent irrigation in every district of Sambalpur district. According to the master plan, 27 new irrigation projects have been planned under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY). In these projects, dams have been prepared at a cost of Rs. 2276.79 lakhs, while 2699 hectares of land have been estimated to be flooded.
According to the information received, there is a plan to construct 5 small irrigation canals at a cost of Rs. 225.59 Lakh. 25 hectares of land will be irrigated through this project
Similarly, while there are 5 small irrigation projects in Jamankira block, an amount of Rs. 1157.42 lakhs will be spent and through this project, irrigation facilities can be provided to 1789 hectares of land. Similarly, 250.38 lakh rupees will be spent for 4 plants in Jujumura block, 190 hectares of land can be irrigated, and there is a plan to construct 3 plants at a cost of 135.70 lakh in Maneshwar block. In this project, 318.67 lakh rupees have been spent for 6 projects of Naktideul block to irrigate 191 hectares of land. 218 hectares of land will be irrigated. An expenditure of Rs. 103.09 lakhs has been spent for 2 projects in Redhakhol block. In these projects, 55 hectares of land can be irrigated, similarly, in Rengali block, 90 hectares of land can be irrigated while 85.79 lakh rupees will be spent for 2 projects. Many farmers of the district can benefit if these initiatives are implemented.
