Sambalpur: 3 arrested while smuggling Marijuana, 40 kilos of Marijauna seized including car
Samalpur: The Excise department is conducting regular inspections and raids. According to a reliable source, on the instructions of the Deputy Excise Commissioner, the Excise team raided the Kilasama area under Sason Thana during the illegal marijuana trade on Monday morning. During the raid, a Maruti car (OD-03-7401) was caught carrying 40 kg of Marijauna in 2 bags from Boudh to Jharsuguda district via Sambalpur. Ashok Urma, Gopbandhu Bhavasagar and Ashok Jagdala of Manmunda, Boudh district, were arrested by the Excise team while they were smuggling Marijauna. A case was registered by the Excise Department (EIB) and the accused was arrested along with the possession of Marijauna and the car. The estimated value of the seized goods is around Rs 10 lakh. Dilip Kumar Rath Sridhar Palai, Ashok Khadia, Tapas Sahu, Upendra Bhoi and Pathu Pankar were prominently involved in this campaign under the leadership of Vice President BPR Charan Mandal. Marijauna is being transported out of the state through Jharsuguda. During the last few months, the accused was arrested with the seizure of a huge amount of marijauna by the excise department, while on the last 3 days, 3 accused were arrested with 75 kg of marijauna and a car.
