Sambalpur: 595 Cough Syrup Bottles Seized in Shantinagar; Four Arrested in Connection with Illegal Trade
Sambalpur: In Shantinagar, Sambalpur, authorities have seized 595 bottles of cough syrup. The Excise Department has arrested four individuals and sent them to court. The arrested persons include Sujit Sahu (30) from the local area, Suraj Bagarti (26), Jiten Sahu (20) from Balibandha, and Karan Pruseth from Gandamunda.
Arrest and Seizure Details
According to the Excise Department, the four individuals were found gathered under a tree in Shantinagar. Sujit Sahu and the others were discussing the sale and purchase of cough syrup. Two of them had already handed over the bottles to the other two, intending to distribute the syrup throughout the city.

Source and Distribution of Cough Syrup
The cough syrup was sourced from Kolkata and was being distributed across the district through wholesale traders. In connection with this incident, the police have also seized a scooter used for transportation.
