Sambalpur: 6 criminals arrested; Sambalpur police seized 11 lakh rupees along with 8 guns and 22 bullets
Sambalpur: Sambalpur police have arrested 6 criminals. They were involved in gun dealing and various criminal activities. The police of 4 police stations of Sambalpur arrested 6 people on Sunday on charges of possession and trafficking of stolen guns. 8 guns, 22 bullets, 6 mobile phones, 3 vehicles (one pickup, one bullet and one scooty), and 11 lakh 20 thousand 850 rupees were seized from them. The arrested accused are Mohammad Samser alias Pagla (39) of Motijharan, Mohammad Mausim (41) of Sunapali, Munu Pandey (23) of Sadar Thana Cox Colony, Jharsuguda, Mohit Paswan (20) of Doubling Colony, Jharsuguda, Sathya Maharana (38) of Ainthapali Jagannath Colony and Muhammad Ahmed (42) of Bargarh Godbhaga. 6 cases have been registered in different police stations against 6 arrested persons. Sambalpur SP Mukesh Bhamu informed about this in a press conference on Sunday.
According to the SP, the arrested accused were possessing guns for the purpose of committing crimes and selling them. Multiple accused are habitual criminals. There are cases against them in different police stations. He said that the investigation is on from where they brought the gun. According to information, Mohammad Samser and Mohammad Mausim were arrested by the Dhanupali police station. There are 11 cases in different police stations. Two local guns and 4 bullets have been seized by the police. One local gun and 4 bullets were seized from Mohammad Mausim of Sunapali. Munu Pandey and Mohit Paswan have been arrested by Thelkoloi police station. While Munu Pandey was from Uttar Pradesh, he was now living in Jharsuguda Sadar Thana area. While three cases are pending against him in different police stations, one local revolver, one bullet, and one mobile have been seized from him.
A local gun has been seized from Mohit Sharma. Satya Maharana has been arrested by the Ainthapali police. 2 guns (one semi-automatic pistol and one native pistol), 7 bullets, one mobile, and bullets were seized from him. Similarly, the Burla police station has arrested Mohammad Ahmed. A pistol, 6 bullets, 11 lakh 20 thousand 850 rupees, and a pick-up van were seized from him.
