Sambalpur: A great work; The gate of Hirakud Dam was closed for the safety of cows

The cows that went to graze on the river bed, After the gate was opened from the Hirakud reservoir, they could not able to going and stayed in tapu. For the past two days they had been grazing in the tapu. After this was noticed by some youths this morning, they informed volunteer Kartik Kolet. Karthik drew the attention of the district magistrate and pleaded for necessary steps. The District Collector also quickly sent the rescue team there. Tahsildar was given responsibility for this. All the gates of the Diamkud reservoir were closed for some time after the Diamkud dam authorities were informed. The cows were rescued after the water level receded. And then again the gates are opened as per requirement.
