Sambalpur: A man has been accused in Sambalpur town police station of cheating a woman of 64 lakh rupees by pretending to marry her. A young woman named Soma Ghosh of South Subaspalli in West Bengal’s Hooghly district has alleged that a young man from Sambalpur introduced to her through saathi.com. Then he went to her village with his family and promised to get married. There was a conversation on the phone. At various times he asked for money citing health reasons. Sometimes he used to take 50 thousand and sometimes lakhs. She has complained to the police station that he has not returned the amount of 64 lakh rupees.

Last August he said he would pay some money. But he didn’t. As a result, she complained to the police station. She said that she was a victim of fraud by giving money in trust. When asked Town Thana IIC about this, we made a complaint and are interrogating.
