Sambalpur: CM’s Grievance Hearing Turns Into a Farce; 1,400 Complaints Heard in Just 4.5 Hours, Public Disappointed After Failing to Meet CM

Only 12 Seconds Spent Per Complaint

Sambalpur: Today, the Chief Minister’s grievance hearing camp was held in Sambalpur. This was the first time such a camp was conducted outside Bhubaneswar, which made the people of Western Odisha quite happy. However, in reality, many citizens expressed disappointment, calling the entire event more of a publicity stunt than a real effort to solve problems.

Many Couldn’t Meet the Chief Minister

Many people came with serious problems hoping to meet the Chief Minister and share their grievances directly. Unfortunately, several complainants could not even get close to him. Some were redirected to other ministers and secretaries instead.

Speedy Hearings Raise Eyebrows

Surprisingly, officials managed to hear 1,400 complaints in just four and a half hours. This means, on average, only 12 seconds were spent on each complaint. People questioned how such a short time could be enough to properly understand and address serious issues.

Officials Passed the Buck

According to people present at the event, once they reached the complaint room, most were not allowed to meet the Chief Minister. Some were redirected to ministers who themselves avoided giving clear solutions. Instead, they sent complainants to other departments or locations. Some were even told to visit Bhubaneswar again to file their complaint—defeating the purpose of holding the camp in Sambalpur.

Public Questions the Intent

Many citizens who had already attended these camps three or four times in the past said their problems were still unresolved. They questioned why the government is celebrating the success of the camp in Sambalpur when actual solutions are not being provided.

People Demand Action, Not Publicity

Therefore, locals urged the BJD government to focus less on self-promotion and more on actually listening to people and solving their problems effectively.
