Sambalpur: Parents who let their small children drive should be careful. No more minor drivers can go on the road. If you go out, you will be fined Rs. 25,000. From Tuesday, the transport department has started a special drive for children who drive under 18 years of age. Strict investigation has been started in different parts of the state. Three minors were caught on Tuesday while the investigation was going on in Sambalpur. All of them have been fined Rs. 25,000 each.
At 10:30 am on Tuesday morning, a minor was caught driving around with a scooty (OD15C 5858) near Sarlakani Street. The transport department deducted 25 thousand rupees in the name of the vehicle owner. An 11-year-old minor was caught driving Luna (OD 15V 1200) while taking his father behind near Hirakud at 11:30. Similarly, a minor was caught by the transport department while returning home from school with a scooty (OD15C 6705) near Sakhipara. Sambalpur RTO Ramdas Tudu said that a fine of Rs. 25,000 was imposed against all the vehicle owners. He said that this special drive will be intensified.
