Sambalpur: A sword attack in Burla Ph.D.’s office
Burla: An unusual incident was observed at the subdivision office of the Public Health (PhD) Department at PG Street, Burla on Thursday. In the afternoon, the sword attacked inside the office. However, in this incident, while going to save one contractor, another contractor was injured.
According to police information, on Thursday between 12:00 and 12:30, a contractor named Prahallad Mohanty was going to the PhD office for some work. At that time there was a young man named Prashant Kalet (22) from Pathanbandh area standing in front of the office. Due to some reason there was a dispute between Prashant and Prahallad. However, Prahalad did not stay there for long and went into Nominee’s office. However, after some time, Prashant entered the office with a sword. Seeing the sword, the staff were terrified. He abused Prahallad and attempted to attack him with a sword. Earlier, another contractor named Vidyadhar Das was inside the office. While going to save Prahallad, Vidyadhara’s finger was severely injured by Prashant’s sword. Prashant was captured with great difficulty.
The Burla police immediately reached there after receiving information about the incident. The police have registered a case and arrested the accused Prashant, who has filed a complaint against the departmental assistant Sukhmaya Sarkar regarding the incident. Similarly, the injured Vidyadhar has been sent home after primary treatment at Vimsar.
