Sambalpur: No more problem of truck parking on the road. Trucks will not be standing on the side of the road. To solve this, a truck terminal build soon. This state-of-the-art terminal will be built on 7 acres of land at Badarama in Jamankira in which there will be special facilities for truck drivers and helpers. There will be restaurants, garages, rest rooms, toilets and other supermarkets. Sambalpur RTO Ramdas Tudu has informed that the proposal to the state government for the truck terminal will be approved soon.
Plans for terminals at Jujumura and Rengali
Truck terminals will be constructed at Rashibeda in Jujumura and Pandoloi in Rengali, though not only Badarama. Plans are being prepared for this too.
Many routes from Mumbai and Raipur to Cuttack and Kolkata pass through National Highways 53 and 55. After entering Odisha, most rest in Bargarh and Sambalpur. So many times the truck drivers cook and eat or rest on the road. So accidents often happen. Especially between Sambalpur to Jamankira and Maneswar to Redhakhol, trucks are parked on roadsides.
Restrooms and supermarkets will be opened
Sambalpur RTO said that the truck terminal will be built by the state government to solve this problem. Accommodation, food and sleeping facilities will be provided there. In addition, another shop will be opened for necessary equipment in which there will be facilities like cafeteria.
Road safety officials have complained that accidents are increasing due to lack of attention during the construction of the lay-by on the highway. Therefore, there is a demand for lay-by on the national highway number 53 and 55. In addition, truck terminals at Badarama, Jujumura and Rengali have been demanded for a long time. So let it be built. As a result, accidents will be reduced, said the road safety officer.
