Sambalpur: A woman in Sahu Colony was set on fire by her husband while she was sleeping

Sambalpur: A woman was set on fire by her husband in the middle of the night while she was sleeping. The incident which took place in Town Police Station Sahu Colony has become the center of attention. According to the information received from the police, on Thursday night, Lalita Devi (36) of Sahu Colony was sleeping when her husband Jay Prakash first tried to kill her by pressing her face with a pillow. But Lalita wake up from sleep so Jay Prakash said that there was nothing to wake up. So, Lalita again fell asleep. After some time, Lalita’s body was set on fire and Jay Prakash fled away by locked the door outside. Lalita’s sleep was disturbed due to the fire. Immediately she went to the sink and poured water to extinguish the fire. But by then more than half of her body was burnt. After Lalita filed a written complaint at the town police station on Friday, the police registered a case and started investigating the incident.
