Sambalpur: After Two years, the Sambalpur-Puri Intercity run again

The Sambalpur-Puri-Sambalpur Intercity Express, a popular passenger train that has been closed for almost two years due to corona, has resumed operations today. It left Puri at 6 am today on the occasion of Ramanabami. On the other hand, BJP workers, including Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayana Mishra and Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak, reached the railway station and greeted the Loco Pilot with wreaths and shook hands with the commuters. It has been closed for two years due to corona cuts. The train did not start even after the lockdown was lifted. As a result, many commuters were stranded. So various organizations and the public demanded that it be launched.

Meanwhile, BJP MLAs, led by Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayana Mishra, met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on March 2 and demanded that the train be resumed. The railway minister had promised that the train would run from Ramanabami. The Sambalpur-Puri Intercity reached Puri at 12.50 pm today. On the way back, the express left Puri at 3.45 pm and reached Sambalpur at around 10.20 pm. The train was stationed at Yuyomu Ra, Redhakhol, Bamur, Bainda, Jarpada, Anugul, Talcher Road, Meramandali, Dhenka Naal, Naraz Marthapur, Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar and Khordha Road stations on both sides of Sambalpur and Puri.

The train is equipped with 2 AC chair cars, 5 second-class chair cars, 5 ordinary second-class cars and two guards and luggage vans. District BJP presidents Girish Patel, Ramchandra Meher, Govind Agrawal, Anil Behera, Phanibhushan Mishra, Sameer Ranjan Babu, Bipin Bhatia, Shambhu Barelia, Sushant Kumar Prohit, along with Sambalpur MLA Shri Mishra and Rengali MLA Shri Nayak before the commencement of the train service today. , Shambhu Yadav, Munna Tiwari, Pradeep Supkar, Sudhar Bahidar, Dr. Prabhas Devta, Pradeep Behera, Prabhas Reddy, Arun Kumar Das Pindu Mahato, Anil Suna, Mahesh Pradhan, Manoj Palsania, Dilip Sharma, Lakshmi Jena, Sabita Hota were present and wished the passengers well. The reopening of this popular passenger train has been welcomed in various quarters.
