Sambalpur: Again Rs. 2.5 Lakh Brown Sugar, 125 Cough Syrup Seized, One Arrested
Sambalpur: In Sambalpur, brown sugar has been caught in Sunapali area of Dhunpali police station, Sambalpur District Excise Department has seized 125 bottles of cough syrup along with 19 grams of brown sugar.
According to the information received, a team under the supervision of Assistant Collector Jalirani Pradhan, had raided the Sunapali area on Thursday night after receiving information about the sale of white drugs. After learning that Mohammad Nasim alias Guddu of Sunapali was trying to escape with brown sugar from there, he was caught by the excise department. He and his house were also searched. A total of 19 grams of brown sugar and 125 cough syrup were seized.
According to the Excise department, Guddu’s brother Mohammad Mukhdar was arrested last week on charges of dealing in cocaine and narcotic pills. They brought this brown sugar from West Bengal and were doing business in the city.
