Sambalpur: The Agriculture Department has raided the fake fertilizer warehouse of a man from Tulandi village near Barpali. Barpali Agriculture Department, Bargarh Agriculture Department, and Barpali Police were involved in this raid. It is to be noted that on Tuesday evening when a pick-up van crashed near Barpali Kainsir, the driver refused as the locals wanted to help. As a result, doubts arose in people’s minds. At this time, a tractor came and was carrying bags from the pick-up, when some youth chased the tractor, it went to the warehouse of Mohan Barik of Tulandi village. As the youth became suspicious, they immediately informed the Agriculture Department.
Later, Bargarh Fertilizer Inspector Idusmita Debta, Barpali Agriculture Officer Dhiren Bhoi along with the police team reached there and conducted an investigation till around 9 pm. They found 90 bags of Potash AMOP along with empty sacks, salt, and paint from the said warehouse. The owner, Mohan Barik, set fire to some of the bags. The investigation team continued to work round the clock till 9 pm. The investigation officer informed that the seized potash fertilizer will be kept in the Barpali FCI warehouse and the sample of the fertilizer will be sent to the laboratory. He also said that action will be taken as per the rules after receiving the report. The public has been complaining that fake fertilizers are being manufactured here for many years. There have been demands from all quarters to punish the culprits involved in such a deadly act.
