Sambalpur: Ainthapali-Fatak Road, The Government is being defamed by the Public Works Department
Sambalpur: The Samlei Project was launched with great show and pomp. Billions of rupees have been spent and it has been built in a dazzling way. Visionary projects have been created to enrich the tourism industry and empower the people’s livelihood. For which the state government’s efforts are highly appreciated. Looking at the streets of the city, it seems that the Public Works Department has taken responsibility to defame the government. People are blaming the government for substandard roads and unsightly dividers. Such an accusation has been made on the main road from Ainthapali to Fatak.
- Question about the quality of the road, the divider will not last for a year
- Dhanupali, Jail Chowk to Sakhipada road are half completed
- The Public Works Department officer is not open mouth
Sachikant Sahu, who lives in Budharaja area, said that the state government has sanctioned more than 3 crore rupees to build the road from Ainthapali to the Fatak. But it is being looted without spending it properly. While the bottom layer is crushed, the top layer also shows the same effect. In some places, it has been completely crushed. Even if the trees were cut down to widen the road, the road was not widened. Most importantly, the divider in the middle is octagonal for aesthetics. Some are using broken materials. Doubts are also being raised about the iron grills that are placed in the basement with low-quality concrete. Therefore, if it is investigated at a high level, corruption will come to light. Not only the Ainthapali-Fatak road but also the Dhanupali to Jail Chowk road, people have become non-residents. The partition made there is of very low quality. All the pitches are up. The road is in a deplorable condition. Similarly, Sakhipada Road is also half-built. Even though it is a crowded road, there is no attention from the Department. People have been demanding immediate construction but no one is listening. A complaint has also been made to the District Collector. But the office of the District Collector is also becoming helpless. Therefore, the orders of the district governor are also being ignored by the officers of the former department. Asked about this to the former department officials, they did not give any answer.
