Sambalpur: Akashwani Sambalpur Center Foundation Day
Sambalpur: Akashwani Sambalpur Center celebrated its 70th anniversary on Thursday. The center was founded in 1933. The center, which started with the transmission of 20 kilowatts of transmitter, is currently broadcasting 100 kilowatts of digital. As the main center of western Odisha, the center has won the hearts of the audience by broadcasting high quality programs. With the Sambalpuri regional news broadcast starting in 2014, people are now able to hear the news in their own language. The arts, culture, and entertainment programs of the region are being streamed through the FM Mahanadi, according to its inaugural function today.
Kshetramani Bivar, Editor of Akashwani Recreation Club, gave a welcome address and highlighted the ‘Golden History of Sambalpur Center’. Ramesh Chandra Bhoi, Head of Engineering Department, Manoj Kumar Pujari, Head of Program Department, Rajkishore Panda, Assistant Engineer, Santosh Ping, Program Editor, and other staff members were present on the occasion to mark the founding day. Ganeshram Seth, author of the music and entertainment program ‘Nua Sakhal’, prepared by the Center’s Department of Agriculture and Home Affairs, and four employees of the Akashwani Center were awarded certificates from the Akashwani Directorate General of New Delhi during the Akashwani Annual Awards competition.
