Sambalpur: Allegations of death of a young woman due to medical negligence in Burla

Dhama: Itishree Panda, 22, of Putiapali village, Dhama police station, was admitted to Burla Hospital on June 13. Family members have blamed the deaths on doctors and staff members. She was rushed to a private nursing home in Sambalpur at around 5am that day. After falling ill at 10 a.m., her health deteriorated and she was rushed to Burla Hospital by ambulance 106 in critical condition but her treatment was delayed. Stretchers were not available to carry her. Itishree’s mother, Sujata, complained that her daughter’s life was lost due to delays in paperwork and medical negligence. The hospital authorities could not be reached for comment.
