Sambalpur: First the vehicle was stolen. Later the number plate was changed. The most important thing was that the ambulance service ran into that stolen vehicle. Money also went from government funds about which the hospital authorities could not know anything. The truth came out when the car was finally pulled out of the parking lot. A fraudster has been arrested and prosecuted in this case.
According to the information, Hospital Manager Bishnupriya Sahu requested the police to remove the vehicles parked illegally in the hospital premises due to the visit of the OHRC Chairperson Satrughana Pujari. The police team removed the vehicles illegally packed in which neither the driver nor the address of the owner was found. verified the number plate of the said vehicle to remove the vehicle from there.
According to the e-challan message, the vehicle was found to belong to Kalakar Barik of Rengali, Sundargarh district. While contacting the owner of the vehicle, some disturbing information came to light. Kalakar Barik told the police about his Balero present in Rourkela. After that, the police found out that the fake number plate was installed on the Balero at Sambalpur DHH. Due to investigation, the owner’s name was written in the RC book of Balero as Ramakant Nayak of PTLN Lane, Sambalpur.
The vehicle was used as an ambulance during Corona Time. The vehicle pass was also found. A bank deposit slip of Rs 1 lakh in Ramakant’s name was also seized by the police. When the police contacted Ramakant, he said that he was out of the state. He said that he will return after 3-4 days. On the other hand, after checking Balero’s engine and chassis number, the police found the owner of the vehicle, Shubh Swain of Jagatsinghpur Kujangar, and the vehicle number (OD 05J 1738).
Then the police contacted Shubh and told police that the vehicle was stolen in the year 2016. At the police station, he reported the theft of the vehicle and informed the police. After it was found that Ramkant changed the number plate of the stolen vehicle and did a makeover of the vehicle, the police filed a case. Ramakant was arrested by the police and taken to court on Friday. As the police suspect that many more crooks are involved, the investigation has started.
