Sambalpur: Ambulance Trapped in Lengthy Fatak Traffic Yesterday; Residents Demand Solutions
Sambalpur: Sambalpur’s traffic system has become a mess. The city experiences numerous traffic management incidents. Accidents such as crashes, roadblocks, and breakdowns are common occurrences. Every day, accidents and road difficulties create problems at every intersection.
More than a hundred vehicles were trapped in traffic on the Sambalpur Fatak flyover yesterday. An ambulance was also stuck between them.
There is an independent bridge between Golbazar and Ainthapali, where traffic congestion persists for both small and large cars. Police are stationed on both sides of the bridge to manage traffic. Plans were developed to redirect traffic away from Golbazar to relieve congestion. Even after completion, many expected easy access to the road, but this expectation was not met. The same traffic problem continues.
As the traffic problems are increasing day by day, people are expressing their anger through protests, especially in the affected areas. Both the marketplace and the increase in vehicles are causing traffic problems. People are facing problems due to constant traffic jams Auto drivers are especially disappointed. Frequent accidents are going undiagnosed.
Officials are trying to evacuate residents and shopkeepers for road widening but are failing to solve the traffic problem. Today, the ambulance was stuck for a long time due to traffic on the road. In such a situation, if a patient is in the ambulance, who will be responsible for any consequences, intellectuals are questioning.
“Who will be responsible if something were to happen to the patient in the ambulance in such a situation?”, the intellectuals have asked.
