Sambalpur – Angul Road in deplorable condition, 6 km road is left to be constructed, Hirakhanda head met the project director

Sambalpur: Agarwal Infracore has been given the responsibility for the construction of Sambalpur Angul National Highway No. 55 after the construction company Gayatri Projects cheated. However, even after 3 months of taking charge of this organization, no progress has been made. According to official sources, there is still 96 km of road construction work left, but in reality, it is said that it will be more than that.

It is worth mentioning that last year 2016, the tender was called for the construction of Sambalpur Cuttack National Highway No. 55 which was in a deplorable condition. NHAI has decided to quadruple the Sambalpur-Angul highway in the first phase. In the second phase, tenders were called for the construction of Angul to Cuttack road. However, this one firm got a yes tender for construction of Sambalpur-Angul and Angul-Cuttack roads. But the agency worked at a slow pace. The road construction work has stopped for the last 9 months. 12 underpasses are planned for the safe movement of elephants. 6 meters high and 50 meters wide government pressure. Even on April 25, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) issued a notice to the Gayatri Project that if the work is not started within 15 days, the work will be handed over to another organization. However, since no progress has been made, this work was given to Agarwal Infracore from last July. In this regard, the Project Director of NHAI Nageshwar Rao said, “The foundation has been prepared for the Angul road from Sambalpur. A total of 302 kilometers of road construction has been given on both sides. Road 151 has not been constructed equally on both sides by the construction company, till now, 96 km of the 302 km road has been closed due to rain. Mr. Rao said that the work started in September and was supposed to be completed by December 2023, but due to rain, the work could not proceed.
