Sambalpur/Maneshwar: Another robbery at gunpoint in Sambalpur city. The loot was taken from Mandhata Baba jewellery shop in Maneshwar under Sambalpur Sadar police station. 5 miscreants came on a bike and looted gold jewellery worth more than 25 lakhs at gunpoint.
According to police information, 5 miscreants came on 2 bikes around 10:30 on Sunday. First, 3 people came on the bike and entered. Then 2 more people entered the shop on another bike. 2 pointed a gun at the shop staff while the others started robbing the jewellers. They looted around 300 grams of gold jewellery and some silver jewellery. The shop owner said that the estimated cost will be more than 25 lakh rupees. The rogues were speaking in Odia. After getting information about this, the Sadar police station reached the spot. Later, a scientific team and a research dog along with Sadar SDPO arrived and started an investigation. The entire scene of the robbery was captured on the CCTV camera. Everyone had their faces covered. Within 10 minutes after the robbery, the miscreants fled in a Honda Shine and a Pulsar. Their bike numbers are also visible in the CCTV footage. On the other hand, after the robbery, the police started raids and strict checks in different places in the Maneshwar area.
