Sambalpur: Asit Tripathi, Chief Advisor of Western Odisha Development Council and chief advisor to the Chief Minister visited Sambalpur today and visited various in-progress projects of district. First, he has inaugurated a banana tissue culture lab at Sambalpur University with the help of NABARD. This is the third lab in Odisha. He said that Western Odisha has a favorable climate for horticulture, so the government is always keen for farmers to give more importance to banana cultivation and other horticulture.
District Collector Ananya Das, NABARD CGM C Uday Bhaskar, DWDC CEO Dr Ajit Kumar Mishra, University Registrar Dr Nripraj Sahu were present at the opening ceremony. Shri Tripathi visited Jujumura block in Govardhan Ladmal area of Nuabarangmal Panchayat’s Sitakanth Behera Ecotourism under the Chief Minister’s Krushi Udyan Yojana project at a cost of 2 crore rupees.
DWDC chief visited Devjharan falls. He said that the government will take various measures to improve it. Apart from this, he revealed that assistance will be provided by DWDC for water sports in Devjharan falls. Later he visited Berhampur in Redhakhol Block. There, 52 families connected the pipe from Shankha Panitia Bahada stream and used the water in all kinds of ways and praised them.
Apart from this, 7 SHG groups are also cultivating various types of vegetables with the help of this piped water. Redhakhol reviewed the work of Town Hall, Bus Terminal under construction in NAC. In the end, he expressed his happiness about the park and discussed how to take its maintenance seriously and attract more people.
