Sambalpur: Assault and Robbery in Golbazar; Fruit Shop Owner Attacked, Robbed of Cash
Sambalpur: A disturbing incident of assault and robbery took place last night in the Golbazar area, where Vijay Singh runs a fruit shop.
Around nighttime, two unidentified individuals approached Vijay Singh and demanded money from him. When Vijay refused to comply with their demands, the two men viciously attacked him with a baton (thick stick). The assault was so severe that Vijay sustained serious injuries. Seizing the opportunity, the assailants robbed him of Rs. 1,600 in cash before fleeing the scene.
Fortunately, other people saw the situation and went to Vijay’s rescue. They quickly took him to the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.
Following the incident, Vijay’s brother instantly filed a written complaint at the town police station, describing the attack and robbery. Following the report, the police opened a case and started an investigation.
