Sambalpur: Assistant Fisheries Officer in Vigilance Net: Caught taking bribe of Rs. 20,000
Sambalpur: The Assistant Fisheries Officer of Naktideul block of Sambalpur district has fallen into the vigilance net while taking bribes. She demanded a bribe from the Maa Samleswari Self-Help Group (SHG) to get the subsidy. The Sambalpur Vigilance Department caught her while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 in a cheque from SHG on Friday.
Sambalpur Vigilance Department has arrested Bhubaneswar’s Assistant Fisheries Officer (AFO) Snehalata Mohanty working in Naktideul. Sambalpur Vigilance was informed by SHG about AFO asking for a bribe. A cheque from the vigilance team was chemically coated and handed over to the SHG. The AFO was caught by the vigilance team while the women of the group giving cheque. Snehalata joined Naktideul as AFO on March 23.
