Sambalpur: At last, the encroachment has been removed from the government land
Sambalpur: Finally, the encroachment has been removed from the government land in Govindtola Hariom Nagar. Yesterday, in the presence of the police administration, 15 decimals of government land were confiscated. A road of 20 feet earlier connected the river within the said official territory. Villagers used to travel through that road. Anganwadi center was planned to be built on the said government land. But due to the protest of the squatters concerned, the Anganwadi Center could not be constructed despite the money being sanctioned. Not only that, there was a proposal to install a power transformer, but it could not be done due to the opposition of the concerned people.
Although a complaint was made in this regard in the police station, some steps were not taken. As a result, the villagers were forced to stand at the gates of the High Court. On the 7th they warned to block the Govindtola main road. After the warning of the villagers, the administration showed urgency. Once an attempt was made to lift the encroachment, but the JCB could not be lifted as the machine was not working. However, following the warning of the people’s warning, the encroachment was lifted yesterday.
