Sambalpur: Auto hits Hyva: 3 dead including 8-month-old baby, Six were seriously injured, hospitalized
Sambalpur/Rengali: A fatal accident took place this morning near Pradhanpali tollgate of Sambalpur district administration. Three people, including an 8-month-old baby, were killed and six others were seriously injured when a auto hit a hyva. The dead became Benudhar Bagh (19), Punam Bagh (13) and his younger sister Nemsika Bagh (8 months) of Bhormal village, Kesinga Thana, Kalahandi district. So were the wounded Baidehi Bagh, Parvi Bagh, Jayanthi Bagh, Badal Bagh, Pinky Sika and auto rider Rakesh Panigarahi of Jharghati district of Sambalpur. Police and local people rescued the injured and sent them to Burla Hospital for treatment.
Incidentally, some laboring families of Bhormal village were working in a rice mill in Nuakhuriga of Sambalpur district. Bablu Bagh’s mother Gharmani Bagh (70) of Bhormal village passed away today at dawn. On hearing the news, everyone left to go to the village. They hired an auto (OD 31G 1882) and were going to Khetrajpur railway station. From there they would have gone to the village by train. Then, the auto lost control and rammed behind a Hyva (JH 10 BT 8677) which was stopped on the side of the road near Pradhanpali tollgate. Bablu’s two daughters Punam, Nemsika and cousin Benudhar died in it. After the accident, the police seized both the vehicle and detained the hyva driver.
