Sambalpur: Bear dead body recovered from Redhakhol forest

Redhakhol: The body of a bear has been recovered from a forest near Yuvrajpur village under Badbahal range of Redhakhol forest in Sambalpur district. The rescued bear is about 12 years old, according to the forest department. Today, locals were on their way to the forest when they saw a bear lying dead.

The stench was excreted from the body, it is unknown at what time the bear have died. The villagers reported the matter to the forest department. ACF Devi Prasad Raut and Range Officer Pragya Paramita Deep recovered the bear’s body from the spot. Today, the bear’s body was dissected and buried. The body sample was sent to Bhubaneswar. DFO Ramakant Nayak said the cause of death would be known once the report was received.
