Sambalpur: Beef was seized again, 5 arrested, 32 cows were rescued and 68 kg of meat was seized
The cows were slaughtered in Sunapali and Motijharan areas under Sambalpur Dhanupali police station. Dhanupali police raided three places on Thursday after receiving information from reliable sources. During the raid, police seized a total of 68 kg of beef. Police also rescued 32 cows. Five people have been arrested in connection with the killings.
According to police sources, Dhanupali police raided three places after receiving information that beef were being sold illegally in Sunapali and Motijharan. In the first place, police arrested Sharif Khan, 30, of Motijharan, and recovered five cows, 15 kg of beef, an iron chopper and a piece of wood. In the second place, police arrested Mohammad Arbaaz alias Badshah, 21, of Sunapali and Akhil Kumbhar, 45, of Kamalapada, and recovered 11 cows, 38 kg of beef, two iron chopper and a piece of wood.
In the third place, police arrested Mohammad Musin alias Babu, 24, of Sunapali and Nuakha Jharia, 55, of Sindurpank area under Sadar police station and seized 16 cows, 15 kg of beef, a fridge and a weighing machine. Dhanupali police have registered three separate cases and are investigating. Dhanupalli police station has already registered a case against Mohammad Musin and Sharif Khan.
