Sambalpur: Beware !! If you are Shopping in Online Platform

Sambalpur: Be careful while shopping online. Cyber fraudsters have now started cheating people through online shopping platforms. Within 7 days, 2 people from Sambalpur have complained of cyber fraud. Milan Raut of Sakhi pada has been shopping with Flipkart since 2009. He alleged that someone had hacked his account and bought thing worth 70 thousand rupees.

Using his account, the thief placed an order for a laptop and a watch on the 14th and received the order on the 17th. Flipkart took advantage of the pay later facility and made the payment through EMI. The EMI amount will be debited from June onwards. He came to know about it on the afternoon of 28th after receiving a message of a laptop he had bought from Flipkart. Then by the time he opened his account, he knew that thing worth Rs 70,000 had been purchased. After he filed a written complaint at Dhanupali police station on Sunday, the police registered a case and started investigating the incident.

Gokulananda Sahu of Padhanpali under Sambalpur Sadar Police Station also filed a written complaint on June 1 in Sambalpur Sadar Police Station as a victim of fraud. The fraudster made a mobile order worth Rs 37,068 from his account through Flipkart Pay Later.
