Sambalpur: Bihari Gunda in the liquor raid team, Department of excise sits silent

Sambalpur: ‘Sambalpur Department of excise is now under the control of Bihari gundas. This is the complaint made by the people who sell liquor in the village. A day later, a team led by this Bihari goon raided Baghpada village on the outskirts of Sambalpur city. In which there was an officer of the Department of excise while all the others were Bihari goons. They entered the village and dragged the people out on the charge of selling liquor. But they returned without finding anything.

However, while the raids of the liquor department are legal, there is growing dissatisfaction with the incident of the Bihari goons being raided with the department staff. On the other hand, the excise department was contacted in this matter but no response was received.

Where is the government’s money going given to the Department of excise?
Who authorizes the raid operation?

According to the information, at around 3:30 pm yesterday afternoon, information was received that kuchia liquor was being sold in a village on the Kainsir road, Jamadarpali. After this incident, a team in 2 vehicles of the excise department drove to the village. Between the 2 vehicles, one was Balero and the other was Jeep. But the serious issue is that out of 13 people in these 2 vehicle, only one was a 2-star officer of excise department. Another 12 were Bihari gundas who made and sold desi liquor. For a long time, this team was raided in the village. People’s houses were also searched. Nothing was found.

However, these Bihari goons are regularly entering the villages and conducting search operations. For this search operation or raid, the excise department has been provided staff and vehicles by the government. The department is also spending billions of rupees annually. But now the question has been raised as to why the department is using these bihari goons. These Bihari goons are employed by the owners of liquor shops licensed by the government to sell desi liquor. If the kuchia liquor is sold, the owner of the shop will suffer a loss. So the owners of the liquor shops hire some bihari goons over some employees of the excise department.
