Sambalpur: Burla Vimsar free Mahaprayan vehicle available, assigned management responsibilities to S.H.G groups
Burla: Mahaprayan vehicle made available for poor helpless patients by the state government. Burla Vimsar has got two vehicles in this Mahaprayan scheme. Two Self Help Groups (SHGs) namely Jay Maa Bhubaneswari and Jay Maa Durga have been entrusted with its management.
According to the scheme, the poor and destitute patients can get this service free of charge within the Sambalpur district For this, both self-help group members and vehicle drivers are present at the help desk of the hospital. For this service, patients can visit Help Desk or contact Jay Maa Durga Self Help Group President Durgeshini Behera, Editor Rajkumari Nihal and Jay Maa Bhubaneswar Self Help Group President Shant Pada Lama, Editor Shantilata Mohanty. This service is available from 8 am to 7 pm. If something goes wrong during the night, they will provide this service to them the next morning, said Durgeshini Behera, president of Jay Maa Durga Self Help Group. She further said that under this system, after post-mortem, dead body transportation service will also be provided to the registered residence of the patient in the hospital. This Mahaprayan vehicle can also be made available outside the district. However, if the patient has a BPL/Ration card, this service can be availed free of cost, informed Professor Lalmohan Naik, Superintendent of Vimsar. There is a buzz in the hospital that this will benefit the poor and helpless patients.
