Sambalpur: Camera’s are guarding every intersection, Be Careful if you violating traffic rules
Sambalpur: If you are not wearing a helmet while riding a bike, using a mobile phone while driving, not using a seat belt or riding a bike with 3 people, then be careful. Otherwise, cameras are guarding every street in Sambalpur to empty your pockets. Around 1000 e-challans have been issued in the last 8 days. The department has said that this number will increase further when the cameras of all the streets are operational.

Also, if you violate any traffic rules, you will have to pay a fine. A special drive by the Transport and Traffic Department is underway to check everything from speeding to overloading. According to Sambalpur RTO Ramdas Tudu, a total of 979 e-challans were issued between 11th and 17th. A total of Rs.87,125 has been collected. A maximum of 473 people were stopped for not wearing helmets and 29 lanes were confiscated in 8 days. Similarly, 27 buses have been fined for violating school bus rules, while three vehicles have been fined for overloading. The fitness of 15 vehicles has been cancelled. The traffic police and transport department staff are also keeping a close watch on the law violators at various intersections with cameras. Ramdas Tudu said that this special drive will continue.
