Sambalpur: Cancellation of promotion of 10 employees of Vimsar, High Court orders to transfer them to their previous rank
Burla: Following allegations of irregularities in the 2018 promotion process of Burla Vimsar Grade III and IV employees, the Vimsar authority cancelled the promotion of 10 employees and removed them back to their previous rank. In the meeting held under the chairmanship of Acting Director Prof. Barsa Tudu, Director Prof. Jayshree Dora, Superintendent Prof. Lalmohan Naik, Chancellor Prof. Bhabgrahi Rath, Administrative Officer Prof. Prafulla Kumar Kujura were present and took this decision.
Out of these 10 people, 2 have already retired. 8 others will now work at their previous levels in the promotion list, 4 employees promoted from Laboratory Associate to Junior Laboratory Technician, 3 employees promoted to Media Maker have been transferred to their predecessors level, Laboratory Assistant, and Senior Clerk.
The incident of removal of the promoted employees to their previous posts has created a stir in the Vimsar staff quarters. It has become a matter of discussion in the staff quarters whether action will be taken against the members of the committee who gave the irregular promotions.” It is known that Mamata Devi worked as a junior clerk in Vimsar Department from October 1, 1996 . In the promotion committee meeting on May 30, 2018, she will became the senior clerk, but her promotion was not considered and Prashant Debta, who was hired in 2005, was promoted. Mamata Devi appealed to the authorities that the law has been violated in this promotion. Then it was done by the committee and we were told that we can’t do anything. Finally, Mamata Devi approached the High Court for justice. Later, on the orders of the court, Prashant was transfer to his original post and Mamata Devi was fairly promoted as senior clerk.
