Sambalpur: Candidates in Sambalpur Rely on Astrological Advice for Nomination Filings; Dharmendra and Nauri Submit After an Hour of Waiting
Sambalpur: Astrology is significant in Sanatan culture, and even leaders use it to predict suitable times. This was clear today, as BJP candidates sought astrological advice before submitting their nomination papers.
Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJP candidate for Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, was advised by an astrologer that the auspicious time for filing his nomination began at 2:00 PM. Pradhan arrived at the district office at 1:00 PM but waited for an hour in the office’s waiting room. At 2:30 p.m., Pradhan and his followers entered the District Collector’s office and filed their nomination papers.
Similarly, Nauri Naik, the Rengali candidate, arrived at the district office with Pradhan but waited for nearly 30 minutes outside the Additional District Collector’s office due to astrological advice. Later, at 1:40 PM, he entered to the Additional District Collector’s office and filed his nomination.
On the other hand, according to astrological guidance, the best time to file nominations on Friday began after 11 a.m. Keeping this in mind, Jayanarayan Mishra, the BJP contender for Sambalpur MLA, is anticipated to file his nomination papers around that time. Despite joining Dharmendra’s parade today, he got down from the chariot in front of the district BJP office.
Interestingly, two of the three BJP candidates filed nominations today based on astrological advice, while one did not, creating debate in the city. According to BJP sources, Devendra Mohapatra, the BJP MLA candidate from Redhakhol, would also file his nomination papers within the next five days, following astrological guidance.
This incident highlights the influence of astrology in the decision-making process of the candidates, as they seek auspicious timings for important events like filing nominations.
