Sambalpur: Child Protection Program Launched; aim to free Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts from child marriage
Sambalpur: Child Protection Program has been started in collaboration with Kaulas Satyarthi Foundation New Delhi in collaboration with Adarsh Organization. The program was inaugurated on Friday at the Odisha Cultural Society, Sambalpur. Under the program, 150 villages of 8 blocks of Sambalpur district and 150 villages of 5 blocks of Jharsuguda district have been included in this program. 34 workers have been appointed to manage the program.
The program aims to stop child labour, prevent child abuse, child marriage, sexual violence against children and bring back school dropouts.
It has been said by Adarsh Organization that 4 lakh 50 thousand people have signed and taken an oath to free Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts from child marriage.
District Council Chairperson Kumudini Naik attended as the Chief Guest while District Social Welfare Officer Gitanjali Mohapatra, District Child Protection Officer Suchismita Patnaik, and Additional Labor Officer Shatrujit Sahu attended as Chief Guest. Adarsh Organization Secretary Pradeep Behera conducted the program. Ranjan, Leena, Jyoti, Uma, David, and Kiran contributed greatly.
