Sambalpur City celebrates Durga Puja with great show and pomp

Sambalpur: On the occasion of Durga Puja, the city of Sambalpur is in full swing. The city is shining with colorful lights. The mother is enshrined in the attractive Mandap. This time Maa Durga is being worshiped in 58 puja mandaps. Crowds of devotees can be seen in the mandaps till around 11 o’clock at night. Organized cultural programs in various puja mandaps. A large number of people from different regions have come to Sambalpur with their families to spend the Puja vacation. Tourists are seen visiting during the day and pooja mandap in the evening.

Hotels in the city are overcrowded due to the arrival of people from outside. Even tourists have to run from one hotel to another for a room. 25 platoons of police force have been deployed in the city for security. Security has been tightened in the city under the supervision of 2 additional SPs, 8 DSPs, 16 inspectors, 70 SIs and ASIs.
