Sambalpur: The attraction of Sambalpuri sarees and dresses is unique. One who once wore it could not leave it. Many celebrities and prominent people of the country have also fallen in love with Sambalpuri clothes. Sambalpuri saree craze is increasing among non-Odiya women administrative officers working in Odisha. Earlier, the administrators of Usha Padhi, Mrinalini Darswal were seen wearing Sambalpuri sarees, but now the new generation IAS officer Sonpur District Magistrate Aboli Sunil Naravane, Bargarh District Magistrate Manisha Banerjee, Sambalpur District Magistrate Ananya Das have shown their interest in this handloom.

Tweeting on the occasion of National Handicrafts Day, Ananya mentioned that the wonderful work the weavers of Odisha are doing on the 6 yard saree is commendable. Among the sarees, Sambalpuri Pata, Maniyabandhar cotton, Koraput Kotpada cotton and Kandhamal Kapadganda cotton sarees are mentioned as her favorite wears.
