Sambalpur: Conflict over electricity bill, TPWODL Explanation
Sambalpur: Some city intellectuals have expressed concern over the fact that Tata Power has been paying electricity bills every 24 to 26 days. By reducing the number of slabs to a minimum of 50 units, customers will receive 15 bills a year if they come in at the lowest price slab for 50 units. As a result Journalist Deepak Panda complained that the max amount had to be paid. Some of these bills and statistics are circulating on social media. Tata Power, meanwhile, said in a statement that the electricity bill was being paid in accordance with the OERC regulations and that there was a standard for all of India. In a few days when the bill comes, the slab profit decreases, and when it comes to more days, the rate increases. Similarly, there are rules for paying bills only 12 times a year.
Instead, it is being offered 42 days. But once every 24 days the bill comes. Instead of 12 times, customers will be charged 15 times fixed charges, electric duty, meter and 13 under no circumstances. If a bill is made on the 28th of a month, it will be 36 days in the next month. So customers don’t have to bear any financial losses in the bill, ”the company’s public relations officer said.
