Sambalpur: Construction of the Samlei Scheme complex is going on at a fast pace, Historic Tower has already stood up
Sambalpur: The construction of the Samlei Scheme Complex for the development of Maa Samaleswari area started late but now it is progressing at a fast pace. On the one hand, there is discontent among the slum dwellers, especially the Ghunghutipada area slum dwellers, over the displacement, but acquisition and construction by the government continues in parallel.
Among the important components involved in the Samlei project, the construction of Historic Tower (Heritage Gate), Vending Zone, Information Centre, Pond Complex, Shoe Storage Center etc. has already started. After the construction of the Heritage Gate completion, the Scheme includes a clock tower, a footpath bridge over the river, etc.
The current construction is going on in the vicinity of Gopalji Math and Ghunughtipada area. Work has started for the river front and beautification of the river in front of the temple. The construction of a new cremation ground near temple is also going on. The administration has said that all other constructions will be started soon.
