Sambalpur: Coolie’s Dead Body Found in Ainthapali Chowk Warehouse, Police Launch Investigation
Sambalpur: A coolie’s body was recovered from a godown building near Ainthapali Chowk in Sambalpur. Ranjit Sa (50), the warehouse’s owner, has died. However, he was bleeding severely from deep injuries on the back of his head and face. So, he died there. The police have retrieved the body and are investigating the incident. He was likely killed in business.
In Sambalpur’s Ainthapali Chowk, Ranjit Sa went by the name Chotu Coolie. He had been working there as a porter for a long time. Goods were being unloaded from buses coming from the air. He also hired workers for this. Goods delivered to Sambalpur were brought down at night and stored there. Later, he used to direct people to specific places. He also rented a warehouse to store the items. He used to give goods to people and take some money from them. It was his business.
He came at night to collect goods and lived at the warehouse. While he was a chirpy person by nature, he used to get into fights with people. There is no enmity against anyone. It’s unclear why he was killed. According to reports, at 5 a.m., one of his employees notified the police about Ranjit’s dead body lying outside the warehouse. The police arrived after getting the news. The body was recovered and transported to the District Headquarters Hospital. To investigate the event, the police organized three teams of policemen from the Sambalpur metropolitan area, who are currently investigating.
The CCTV was closed at the time of the incident. In this case, authorities have filed a murder charge and are questioning some of the suspects. However, Sambalpur’s law and order situation is deteriorating on a daily basis. Looting occurs every day. A police camp has been set up in the city’s streets for the general election. Even in this condition, it is said that incidents such as murder, theft, and robbery occur on a daily basis.
