Sambalpur Court’s disorder state ended: Lawyers formally joined the work
Sambalpur: The disorder state of the courtrooms in Sambalpur since December 7 has ended. All court functions in Sambalpur have been normal from Tuesday 3rd Jan. It is reported that all the members of the Sambalpur Bar Association formally withdrew from the movement from Tuesday. As a result, the protest of 27 days has been stopped. Now people are relieved that court work has started again. According to Pramod Kumar Das, a senior member of the association, Sambalpur District Bar Association President Sureshwar Mishra has requested the members from inside the jail to join the court proceedings. He has sent a letter in this regard from the jail to the District Attorney’s office. All the members have accepted the said letter after reading it. Therefore, from Tuesday everyone joined the work naturally, Mr. Dash said.
It is worth noting that there was a movement of lawyers in Sambalpur regarding the establishment of Odisha High Court Bench in Western Odisha. Even after the Bar Council of India (BCI) lifted the suspension of all the members of the Sambalpur Bar Association except 54 lawyers, they have not attended any work since December 17 last year. The impotence continued due to lawyers not attending court proceedings.
