Sambalpur: CUG number of police is in whose service, phone call not connected
Sambalpur: Festival season is going on now. There is commotion everywhere. This situation will continue from Ganesha Puja to Durga Puja. However, criminals take advantage of this and commit petty crimes. Incidents such as theft, robbery, stabbing etc. are especially common. So, if common people are in trouble, they contact the CUG number provided by the police department. But this number is not being used by the Sambalpur Police. However, to find out the truth of this, between 9:30 and 10:30 on Thursday night, the CUG numbers of Town, Ainthapali, Dhanupali, Sadar, Dhama, Jujumura and Khetrajpur police stations were contacted. The number of the town police station was out of network, the phone of Ainthapali and Sadar police stations rang. But no one picked up the phone. Even from that number, there was no contact even moments later. Similarly, Dhanupali, Khetrajpur and Dhama police stations were sued up. It was only after some time that the Jujumura police officer call back.
Even though there are 4 important police station in Sambalpur city, crime is increasing due to police inaction. Incidents like theft, extortion, robbery, dacoity, drug dealing, ATM robbery have been happening repeatedly. It is known that the police are not making efforts to prevent it. Even night patrolling is not being done strictly. Crime is increasing in such places. It is worth noting that many plans have been implemented by the police department to be closer to the public. The department has given a number to each police station so that people can report their problems. This number has been made public. Sambalpur SP B. Gangadhar has posted these numbers on social media. It is even made available to the public on official websites. However, most of them are using their personal number without using it. As a result, people are suffering from non-existent problems. People are frustrated by putting this number where needed. On the other hand, while people are being detained without getting services from the police, it is giving new fodder to the criminals. As a result of which crime is increasing. In view of this, there is a general demand for special attention from the department.
