Sambalpur: Culprit Behind Tanishq Robbery Identified and Detained by Sambalpur Police
Sambalpur: A daring robbery occurred on Monday evening at the Tanishq jewelry showroom in Budharaja, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ainthapali police station. Following the incident, the police achieved a huge breakthrough. The alleged culprit, Manish Todar (25) of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, was captured with a gun and presented before the court, according to Sadar SDPO Tofan Bag during a news conference on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Bag, the accused arrived in a car (CG 04 PB 6924) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Upon entering the Tanishq showroom, he asked to view the most expensive jewelry. He attempted to get away with two gold chains at gunpoint. A female security guard tried to intervene, but the offender hit her with his gun before escaping. Local residents managed to grab the culprit and turned him over to the police. Following a complaint, the Ainthapali police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The arrested Manish was found in possession of a gun, two gold necklaces, and a Thar.
Previously tried robbery in Jharsuguda
Before targeting the Tanishq showroom, he researched about it and closely observed the surroundings. Tofan Bagh revealed that the miscreant also targeted a jewelry store in Jharsuguda but failed in his attempt. The police are currently investigating any potential involvement of the accused in other cases.
